A pair of virtual workshops later this month will offer organizations information about Richland County’s grant programs.

The Internal Grants Funding Guidelines Workshops will focus on grants from the accommodations tax and hospitality tax, as well as service-based discretionary grants.

Accommodations tax grants fund tourism and tourism-related projects and events, while hospitality grants support organizations whose primary mission is attracting tourists. These grants promote dining and overnight accommodations in unincorporated areas of Richland County.

Discretionary grants support county nonprofit or charitable organizations.

The workshops will include assistance with using ZoomGrants, the program used to electronically submit all grant applications.

Interested applications are encouraged to attend one of two Zoom sessions: Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. or Dec. 16 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Eligible organizations must have been in existence at least one year and must provide proof of nonprofit status.

Registration is available by emailing grantsmgmt@richlandcountysc.gov. Participants should include their name, phone number and email address so they can be sent workshop links.

The registration deadline for the Dec. 10 workshop is Monday, while the deadline for the Dec. 16 workshop is Dec. 14.
