The city of Columbia is accepting nominations for the 2023 Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Keeper Scholarship awards, which recognize students’ service to the ideals of human service, social responsibility, political empowerment, diversity, racial harmony and nonviolence.
Nominees must be 18 or younger and enrolled in an elementary, middle or high school with a minimum 2.0 grade-point average, according to a news release.
Applications are available online or at the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department at 1111 Recreation Drive.
Application packets can be submitted in PDF format to parksinfo@columbiasc.gov or can be mailed to the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department, attention Kevin B. Crawford II, 1111 Recreation Drive, Columbia, S.C., 29201. Entries must be postmarked by Friday, Dec. 9.
