Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina will use at $21.3 million tax-exempt bond issue through the South Carolina Jobs-Economic Development Authority to add Laurel Crest in West Columbia to its network of senior living centers.

The bond financing will offset acquisition and renovation costs at the 26-acre campus, which employs 100 workers, according to a news release.

Laurel Crest, founded in 1994 by members of Columbia’s First Presbyterian Church, offers a range of care from independent living to skilled nursing. Laurel Crest joins Presbyterian Communities’ other facilities in Lexington, Summerville, Florence, Easley and Clinton.

“We’re thrilled to be able to add Laurel Crest to the list of caring, capable options that Presbyterian Communities offers to senior citizens across the Palmetto State,” said Ashley Taylor, Presbyterian Communities of South Carolina in Columbia CFO, in a statement.
