Skating rink to feature 2 holiday events

Columbia’s Parks & Recreation Department will play host to two events at Holiday ICE, the city’s outdoor ice skating rink located at 155 Columbiana Circle and Columbiana Centre.

On Saturday, a skate party featuring music, refreshments, giveaways and an ugly sweater contest will take place from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. On Dec. 22, Jingle Fest will include games, music, giveaways and a Santa’s Corner, along with a free children’s craft station. That event will also take place from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Both holiday events are included with the price of admission to the skating rink. Admission is $10 for youth and adults and $8 for active duty military and seniors age 55 and older.

Holiday ICE is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., on Friday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m., on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m., and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. From Dec. 20-Jan. 3, the skating rink will be open Monday through Thursday from noon until 9 p.m. and from noon until 10 p.m. on Friday. Saturday and Sunday hours will remain the same.   

The rink will be open from noon until 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and from noon until 9 p.m. on New Year’s Day. It will be closed on Christmas Day.
