Fireflies accepting Military Hero nominations

The Columbia Fireflies are accepting nominations for local military personnel to feature on their third annual Military Hero baseball card set.

Nominations, which can include active duty military members, reservists and veterans, may be submitted online until April 30. On May 30, the first 1,000 fans at Segra Park will receive the 2019 Military Hero baseball card set.

“The Military Hero Baseball Card Set is an incredibly unique way to honor the local men and women that have served our country and we are happy to be continuing our partnership with AllSouth Federal Credit Union to make it happen,” Fireflies president John Katz said in a news release.

The card set is presented by AllSouth Federal Credit Union.

“Supporting our military is the foundation on which AllSouth was built and we continue this tradition,” Connie Hernandez, vice president of marketing for AllSouth Federal Credit Union, said. “We are honored to sponsor a set of cards for those who proudly served our country.”
