Fireflies hosting Back to School Night Aug. 16

The Columbia Fireflies will be collecting school supplies in exchange for tickets during Back to School Night at Segra Park on Aug. 16. Fans who donate $5 worth of school supplies will receive buy-one-get-one free reserved tickets or tickets to the Palmetto Citizens FCU All-Star seating area.

Donations can be dropped off at the Segra Park box office.

The first 1,500 fans through the gates for the game against the Rome Braves will get a Fireflies tin lunch box. ZOOperstars! will provide in-game entertainment, and there will be a postgame fireworks show. The team is also hosting a Wine & Paint night in the Club Lounge.

Fans can nominate their favorite teacher to throw out the pregame first pitch. Nominations are being accepted on the Fireflies’ social media channels or by clicking here.

Although all school supply donations are welcome, participating schools told the Fireflies they particularly need pencils, composition books, binders and dividers, according to a news release from the team.
