A new multipurpose event venue is coming to the Congaree Vista.

Junction 800 will occupy 16,000 square feet in the former Jillian’s space in the 800 block of Gervais St., Columbia-based developer The Arnold Cos. said in a news release. The venue will have open floor space and will seat more than 500 guests, with the capacity to serve up to 1,000.

Southern Way Hospitality Group will manage the venue and cater events, the release said.

“We’re very excited to add this venue to the options in Columbia,” Arnold COO Shelly Little said. “Junction 800 will fill a need for space downtown as Columbia continues to grow and expand.”

In August, Columbia’s Board of Zoning Appeals approved a variance that paved the way for development of Hotel Anthem, an 11-story boutique hotel in the same area as Junction 800 and another Arnold Cos. project.

Junction 800 will include a parking lot with more than 100 spaces.

“This large, flexible space full of history is needed and will be a great addition to venue options in Columbia,” Southern Way Vice President Jesse Bullard said. “It is a great location for weddings, galas and fundraisers and almost any event you could imagine. We’re so excited to start booking.”

Junction 800 will be available for events beginning Nov. 1, according to the release.

“The Vista is truly becoming a destination for residents and tourists alike, enhancing the vibrant and growing lifestyle of activities in downtown Columbia,” Arnold Cos. CEO Ben Arnold said. “This event space is another piece that will add to the attraction and development of the Vista.”
