Drive right up! Get your fair food in your car

Got a craving for a corn dog? Hankering for a funnel cake?
Good news: The South Carolina State Fair will bring back its food drive-through in the spring. On April 6, motivated motorists can pull up to purchase fair favorites, also including candy apples, roasted corn, turkey legs, sausages and fried Oreos, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
The S.C. State Fair offered drive-through fair food in October, when COVID-19 canceled the event’s rides and midway strolling.
“We appreciate everyone that came to our October fair food drive-through and look forward to seeing you in April,” Nancy Smith, S.C. State Fair general manager, said in a news release. “Our food vendors are ready and anxiously await your return, especially in light of this difficult season.”
Entrance will be through gate 6 on George Rogers Boulevard. Six separate lines will all contain the same food offerings.
The 2021 S.C. State Fair is scheduled for Oct. 13-24.
