Dates, venues set for 2022 Columbia Food and Wine Festival

The 2022 Columbia Food and Wine Festival will be held March 30-April 3, spanning venues from Elgin to Lexington.

The event will kick off Wednesday, March 30 with dinner at Ratio, located at 566 Spears Creek Church Road in Elgin. The curated meal will feature food from Ratio, Black Rooster and Boca Grande, and tickets also include specialty cocktails and wine pairings with each course.

Thursday will feature Mixer on Main at the Columbia Museum of Art’s Boyd Plaza. The event will include a cocktail competition between Main Street district mixologists, with small bites provided by neighboring restaurants.

Dinner on the Green will take place Friday at the Boyd Foundation Horticultural Center at 1615 Blanding St. in Columbia. The new center at the Hampton-Preston Mansion will serve as the backdrop for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres followed by a four-course meal showcasing ingredients influenced by the horticultural center and sourced fresh from S.C. farms.

Saturday will feature several events, beginning with a kids’ cooking class at EdVenture Children’s Museum at 10 a.m. taught by local chefs for ages 10 and under. Sushi & Sake will introduce participants to sushi-making techniques at M Space at 530 Lady St. with chefs from Miyo’s preparing Asian cuisine paired with wine and sake. At 1 p.m., a Flights & Bites brewery bus tour will begin at Steel Hands Brewing and continue to River Rat, Columbia Craft and Savage Craft. And at 4 p.m., events move to Lexington for a walking tour of Main Street beginning at Icehouse Pavilion.

The festival wraps up Sunday with a finale at the Robert Mills House at 1616 Blanding St. featuring more than 40 local food and beverage providers.

Tickets to the festival, presented by Certified South Carolina, are available online at columbiafoodandwinefestival.com. Safety precautions will include tents spaced six feet apart and disposable masks and hand sanitizer, and guests are encouraged to wear face coverings.
