The Nickelodeon Theatre will reopen next week, showing two movies April 15-17.
The downtown theater suspended screening March 1 in “an effort to fulfill its long-term mission more effectively,” according to a Feb. 28 statement. The statement continued: “We will be using this time for a post-pandemic reset and renewal, including a spring cleaning of the Main Street facility and a reorganization of the operational infrastructure.”
Since screenings were suspended, “the theatre board members have worked to reset and recommit to the purposes of the organization,” board president Xavier Blake said in a news release issued Thursday.
Showing next weekend will be The Worst Person in the World, a 2021 drama-comedy about the quest for love and meaning in contemporary Oslo, and Everything Everywhere All At Once, a sci-fi comic-action-adventure film.
Showtime and ticket information is available at nickelodeon.org.
Masks are encouraged, and staff will wear masks, according to the release. The theatre will also follow additional cleaning protocols between screenings.
