The popular Asian/Southwest fusion restaurant Takosushi has opened a new location in The Arcade building at 1332 Main St. in downtown Columbia.
The new location opened in mid-July and has been drawing large crowds showing up for the eatery’s eclectic menu, which includes sushi, nachos, tacos, quesadillas, stir fry, soups and salads. The restaurant is also known for its handcrafted cocktails.
The restaurant will hold a grand opening celebration on Aug. 12 at 11 a.m.
Takosushi closed an Assembly Street location in November 2019, citing unsafe building conditions.
The restaurant is based in Georgia and also has S.C. locations in Aiken and Greenville. It joins other tenants in The Arcade Building including Swanson’s Deli and Odd Bird Books. The historic building was the site of the first indoor shopping area in Columbia and has entrances on both Main and Washington streets.
Takosushi is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and offers a nightly happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m.
