Blown film manufacturer Charter NEX Films is holding a community outreach event on Tuesday to help fill positions at the 140,000-square-foot facility it is building in Blythewood.
The company is looking for construction subcontractors and suppliers for ongoing operations.
Hoffman Planning, Design and Construction Inc. is the construction project manager for the facility, to be located in the Carolina Pines Industrial Park. Construction interests include landscaping, overhead doors and dock equipment, glass, finishes and fencing.
Operations needs include process equipment setting, piping, electrical, office equipment and signage.
Blown film extrusion is the most common technology used to make plastic films, especially for the packaging industry.
Charter NEX Films’ products feature both blown and cast film capabilities and are used in a variety of industries, including food, medical and protective purposes. The company’s new manufacturing operation, announced in September, is expected to bring $85 million in capital investment and create 110 jobs.
