A Blythewood-based investment company is one of two startups accepted as new South Carolina Research Authority member companies.

Borealis Global Advisory LLC provides global equity products and services to individuals, advisors and organizations.

CarbonCents Inc., an energy company based in Walhalla, is also a new member company, while two businesses have received grant funding. CarbonCents helps collect, measure and evaluate energy costs and emissions for customers in the manufacturing, health care and education industries, as well as municipalities.

Infinity Collar LLC, based in Fort Mill, and Mount Pleasant-based SiteMarker Inc. each received a $50,000 acceleration grant. Infinity Collar creates portable, customizable pet containment systems, while SiteMarker’s software platform collects and provides real-time land development data for landowners, lenders, design firms, developers, contractors, inspectors and municipalities.

All SCRA member companies receive coaching, access to SCRA’s Resource Partner Network, eligibility to apply for grant funding and the potential to be considered for an investment from SCRA’s investment affiliate, SC Launch Inc.

Grant funding is made possible, in part, by the Industry Partnership Fund. Contributors received a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit.
