Richardson new president of state Federal Bar Association chapter

Beth Burke Richardson, a member at Columbia law firm Robinson Gray Stepp & Laffitte, is the new president of the S.C. chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

RichardsonRichardson was sworn in during the organization’s annual meeting at the Pastides Alumni Center on Thursday. Also at that meeting, Robinson Gray associate Lisle Traywick was elected to the chapter’s board and member Rob Tyson served on a panel entitled “Recent Law and the 2020 Election.”

The Federal Bar Association has more than 18,000 lawyer members, including 1,500 federal judges, who work to promote the administration of justice and integrity and the quality and independence of the federal judiciary. The S.C. chapter has more than 400 members.

Richardson’s practice focuses on business disputes and includes courtroom and arbitration work. Her clients include a variety of publicly traded and private companies.

Richardson has served on the boards of the Central Carolina Community Foundation and the Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network. She was named to the Columbia Regional Business Report’s 2019 list of Women of Influence in August.
