FOMAS Inc., a custom manufacturer of seamless rolled rings, is investing $2.5 million in an expansion of its York County operations expected to create 10 or more jobs.

FOMAS, formerly known as Ajax Rolled Ring and Machine Inc. before being acquired in December 2014 by Italian company FOMAS SpA, is located at 500 Wallace Way in York. The company designs and manufactures rolled rings used in a variety of steels in the construction, gears and transmission, transportation, mining and power generation markets.

The expansion will increase machining capacity by 10% and include a facility remodeling.

“We are proud to see that our business development actions have brought not only an increase in customer demand but also in volumes,” FOMAS Group CEO and vice president Jacopo Guzzoni said in a news release. “The expansion of our machining capability will support us even more with delivering turnkey solutions to our clients.”
