Carolina Textile Care LLC plans to invest $7.3 million to construct a new commercial laundry plant in Hampton County.

Located in the Lowcountry Regional Industrial Park in Early Branch, the 25,000-square-foot plant will create 50 jobs and have an initial annual processing capacity of 10 million pounds. The plant will focus on providing linens to high-end hotels and resorts.

“Hampton County is an ideal location to build our plant,” Andy Thorson, managing partner of Carolina Textile Care, said in a statement. “We are impressed with the spirit and productivity of the people at Southern Carolina Alliance, Hampton County Council and the S.C. Department of Commerce who have worked hard to help us launch this project.”

Hiring for new positions is scheduled to begin at the end of 2018.

“Carolina Textile Care LLC will be an asset to our industrial community,” Marty Sauls, chairman of SouthernCarolina Alliance, said in a statement. “Hampton County provides an excellent location for manufacturing and distribution for industries needing proximity to international and domestic markets.”

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a $75,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to assist with the costs of site preparation and building construction.
