China Jushi holding job fair on Saturday

China Jushi is holding a job fair this weekend to help fill 400 positions at its $300 million manufacturing facility in southeast Columbia.

The job fair will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at A.C. Jackson Wellness Center at 2608 Atlas Road, according to a news release from host site Bible Way Church of Atlas Road and event co-host Midlands Community Development Corp.

China Jushi, a worldwide supplier of fiberglass reinforcements and fabrics to the reinforced plastics industry, broke ground on its first North American manufacturing plant at Pineview Industrial Park in December 2016. The plant is expected to open this fall, the release said.

The 900-acre park, located at the intersection of Pineview and Shop roads, will be home to China Jushi’s 80,000-ton production line at its 818,000-square-foot facility. The company has also announced plans for a second, $200 million investment that will create another 400 jobs.

In March 2017, Richland County held a public preview of a road-widening project at the industrial park.

Jushi has three plants in China and another in Egypt. Jushi USA, headquartered in California, operates a distribution facility at 3130 Bluff Road.
