Agtruss Inc., a manufacturer of agricultural trusses for the poultry and livestock industries, is investing $2.8 million in an expansion of its Lee County operations expected to create 25 new jobs.

Established in 1995, Agtruss sells trusses to local and national building suppliers and residential businesses. The expansion at its Bishopville operations, which will include a 100-foot production line with additional equipment, is the result of a new, high-volume contract with a large agricultural builder, according to a news release.

“We appreciate the support of South Carolina and TheLINK Economic Development Alliance for all the help they have provided,” Agtruss owner Larry Earls said in the release. “We are looking forward to working with them to make our future expansion plans possible.”

Hiring is slated to begin the first quarter of 2019. Interested applicants should visit www.agtruss.com or email AgtrussTerrance@yahoo.com.

“Lee County Council is delighted to support businesses much like Agtruss Inc. – those that are longstanding and fruitful,” Lee County Council chair Travis Windham said. “We are pleased to learn of this expansion and the additional investment and employment opportunities that will come along with it.”
