A North Carolina-based paper tube manufacturer is investing $1.68 million to establish its first South Carolina operations in Williamsburg County, a project expected to create 19 jobs.

Summit Paper Tube Inc.  is a manufacturer of spiral wound paper tubes used for paper, nonwoven fabric, shipping and cable reels, according to a news release.

“We look forward to being a part of the community and being in Williamsburg County for a long time,” said Bob Bennett, Summit Paper Tube’s president.

The company will lease a facility at 49 Seaboard Road in Andrews. The facility will be used for converting paper into paper tubes for the textile, metals, label and paper industries.

“We are excited and thankful that Summit Paper Tube chose to locate in Williamsburg County,” said Williamsburg County Supervisor Kelvin Washington. “We are thankful for their investment and for creating jobs in our rural communities, and we look forward to welcoming them into our business community.”
