GB Olsen has been promoted to vice president of resource development for the United Way of the Midlands.
Olsen, who joined the United Way in 2014, had been assistant vice president of donor engagement since last summer. Prior to that, she served as director of planned giving and major gifts.
She will replace Mike Gray, retiring this month after 35 years with the organization.
“I am humbled to accept this position and look forward to carrying out the mission and vision of United Way of the Midlands,” Olsen said in a statement. “We have such a great team of employees and volunteers who work tirelessly to create opportunities for better lives in the Midlands.”
Olsen was named the 2017 Outstanding Fundraising Executive by the Central South Carolina Chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals last fall.
“GB has been a valued member of the team at United Way of the Midlands team for the last four years. She has extensive experience in major and planned gifts and has played a key role in growing leadership giving here at United Way of the Midlands,” said Sara Fawcett, president and CEO of United Way of the Midlands. “GB brings a variety of other fundraising experience with her from several different nonprofit sectors, including hospitals, museums, colleges and universities.”
