The foundation works with hundreds of donors and nonprofits in an 11-county service area and facilitates the annual Midlands Gives 24-hour charitable event. It also administers the Connected Communities grants initiative, which aims to improve quality of life by enhancing public spaces and social offerings.

The 6,433-square-foot, Class A office nearly doubles CCCF’s Middleburg Plaza space. The Boudreaux Group architecture firm will design the office, which will include meeting rooms and state-of-the-art technology.

The First Base Building, which spans more than 100,000 square feet and the first-base line at the home of the Columbia Fireflies, also houses law firm Ogletree Deakins, global technology company Capgemini and Founders Federal Credit Union. Newly opened restaurant Bone-In Barbeque is next door.

“Central Carolina Community Foundation is one of the most well-regarded organizations in South Carolina, recognized as a leader in making philanthropy accessible for all,” said Robert Hughes, president of BullStreet developer Hughes Development Corp. “It is exciting for us to partner with them on their new offices and provide them with real estate that offers brand-new infrastructure, such as gigabit internet at speeds 100 times faster than normal, right in downtown Columbia.”
