The University of South Carolina student organization Dance Marathon’s year of fundraising for Prisma Health Children’s Hospital will conclude with a 14-hour dance event on Saturday.
Dance Marathon’s goal is $1,190,000, representing the 119 beds at the hospital. Last year, the organization topped the million-dollar mark for the first time, raising $1,025,171.
The dance begins at 10 a.m. at the Strom Thurmond Wellness and Fitness Center at 1000 Blossom St.
According to its website, USC Dance Marathon is the largest student-run philanthropic organization at the university. Its year of fundraising culminates in the dance Main Event, with no sitting or sleeping permitted.
