The Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network’s fourth annual conference, featuring keynote speaker and author Rebecca Traister, will be held online in 2020. The free, six-week series will begin on Sept. 10.
Topics will include workforce gender equity, paid leave and state economic issues. There will also be a youth panel.
“Now more than ever, it is important that all South Carolinians work together to enact change,” WREN CEO Ann Warner said in a news release. “We want to create a space (where) women and gender expansive South Carolinians can come together to discuss challenges and real, actionable steps to creating a state that works for all people.”
The first session will include an overview of S.C. workplace protections and examples of how private sector employers can implement change.
Traister, a writer for New York and Elle magazines, will deliver the keynote address on Oct. 14.
