Goodwill to open boutique-style store in Lexington County

Goodwill Industries of Upstate/Midlands South Carolina is opening a boutique-style store that will offer shoppers designer and trendy items at affordable prices.

Auten’s Loft will open at 11 a.m. Dec. 6 in space adjacent to the Goodwill retail Store at 524 Columbia Ave. in Chapin.

The store is named in memory of the late Lloyd Auten, founder of the regional organization, according to a news release.

The store will feature affordable designer and name-brand women’s and men’s clothing, jewelry, shoes, accessories and seledct home décor in a stylish setting. All items will come from donations.

Staff will be available to help shoppers put together outfits.

“When you shop at Goodwill, you never know what deal or treasure you’ll find but you’ll always know every purchase means a world of good for your community,” Pat Michaels, president and CEO of GIUMSC, said in the release.“Our hope is this unique take on the boutique experience will bring joy to shoppers, while furthering a cycle of goodwill for jobseekers who come to us for career help, training, education services and more.”

Prices at the boutique will range from $4.99 to about $34.99. Only card or digital payments will be accepted. Auten’s Loft will be open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
