Interior design firm leases space in Capital Center building

Interior design agency PMC Commercial Interiors has leased more than 2,000 square feet of office space at the Capital Center building in downtown Columbia.

The 2,362-square-foot space at 1201 Main St. will serve as an office and showroom for the company’s first Columbia location, according to a news release. The office is slated to open in the second quarter of this year.

CBRE’s Marie Dieckmann represented PMC in the site selection and lease transaction, while CBRE’s Aaron Dupree represented the landlord, Hamilton Capitol Center, LLC.

“PMC is new to the market and sought out a great space with high visibility for its office and showroom. The high-profile space on the mezzanine level of the building exceeded the requirement,” Dieckmann, senior associate at CBRE, said. “We’re excited to welcome PMC to Columbia and to be part of the company’s growth story, as this is its sixth Carolinas location.”

The Capitol Center is a 25-story, 460,020-square-foot Class A office tower.

“We’ve been impressed with the continued growth of Columbia and look forward to assisting its various industries create ideal working environments,” said Jeff Councilman, a principle with PMC who will manage the Columbia office. “The extremely accessible location of the new showroom, along with the new amenities and renovations underway in the building, will provide PMC and our clients a truly unique place to conduct business.”

In other area transactions:

  • The former South Conn Technologies building at 2023 Platt Springs Road in West Columbia has sold for $970,000. NAI Columbia senior brokers Patrick Chambers and Ben Kelly represented the seller of the 16,700-square-foot building.
