A new Foot Locker store is coming to Columbia next spring.

The 15,593-square-foot free-standing store will open at 7007 Two Notch Road in February, according to a news release from Charlotte-based real estate company Katz & Associates.

The space was the former site of Hines Furniture. Julie Gardner, principal at Katz & Associates, secured a 10-year lease for Footlocker. The landlord was represented by Ansel Bunch of CBRE.

“As the exclusive brokers of Foot Locker in Virginia and North and South Carolina, we are proud to be a part of the company’s expansion,” Gardner said in the release.

Katz & Associates also has offices in cities including New York, Miami, New Orleans and Nashville, Tenn.

Law firm leases Gadsden Street space

Colliers International South Carolina’s Mary Winter Teaster represented Maraki LLC in the lease of 3,500 square feet of office space at 2010 Gadsden St. to Columbia bankruptcy law firm Benjamin R. Matthews and Associates.

The property had housed the headquarters of real estate appraiser Marshall Dodds Co. since 1978, according to a news release.

“I was humbled to have been contacted by Marshall to represent his office building, as he has been one of the most prominent commercial appraisers in South Carolina for many years and has solid relationships with many of the commercial brokerage firms,” Teaster, a senior brokerage associate, said in the release. “His responsiveness and attitude were extra incentives to find a great tenant for him.”

The property includes an ADA-compliant floor plan and professionally appointed interior space.

In other area transactions:

  • Colliers’ Taylor Wolfe and Danny Bonds represented the owner of Broad River Village in the leasing of 2,400 square feet of retail space at 11107 Broad River Road to a nail spa.
  • Ryan McCue represented the buyer in the purchase of 167.41 acres of off-market timberland on McCords Ferry Road in Eastover.
