Engineering firm leases downtown Columbia office space

Highfill Infrastructure Engineering P.C. has leased a 1,528-square-foot office suite at the Meridian Building in downtown Columbia’s central business district.

Colliers International’s Philip Vann represented the tenant in the transaction. Tommy Johnson represented HPT Sunbelt Portfolio LLC, the landlord of the office tower located at 1320 Main St.

Highfill Infrastructure is an engineering consulting firm specializing in community and water infrastructure engineering. Its former location was sold, leaving the company a short time to find a new home, according to a news release from Colliers.

“We were able to assist the tenant in negotiating a lease in a short time frame to allow business continuation,” Vann said in the release. “The lease was executed after state and local governments had suggested work-from-home regulations, but Colliers was able to keep the lease process flowing for our clients.”

The Meridian Building is a 336,082-square-foot, Class A office building.

Private island in Beaufort on market

Oak Island, a 32.8-acre private island in Beaufort, is on the market for $2.49 million.

The property, owned by The Nature Conservancy, is accessed by a private bridge through Dataw Island. It features at 725-foot private dock with deep water access to Jenkins Creek and is subject to a conservation easement that allows for up to three residences with an aggregate footprint of 15,000 square feet.

The island is nine miles from downtown Beaufort.

• NAI Columbia’s Ben Kelly, Patrick Chambers and Jack Springs represented the seller in the sale of 4,150 square feet of office space located at 110 Ministry Drive in Irmo to Taliaferro Properties LLC.
• The Central Carolina Community Foundation sold 5.06 acres of land at 7800 Broad River Road in Irmo. NAI Columbia’s Patrick Palmer and Bobby Balboni represented the foundation in the transaction.
• NAI Columbia’s Cam Kreps represented the seller, Belle Isle II LLC, in the sale of 10 acres of land at Bell Isle Gardens in Georgetown to Belle Isle Yacht Club Marina.
