The completion of the newest affordable housing complex in Columbia, The Pointe at Blythewood, will hold an opening celebration this afternoon.

The project was made possible in part through the federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credit. It is a 56-apartment community north of Columbia that offers individuals and families affordable and energy- and water-efficient homes.

TD Bank invested $7.8 million in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit equity in partnership with Enterprise Community Investment Inc.

The architects of The Pointe at Blythewood are Studio 8 Architects. The builder was Prestwick Construction Company, and the property will be managed by Greenville-based NHE Inc.

Blythewood Mayor J. Michael Ross is expected to attend the opening, as well as Prestwick Companies CFO Ken Blankenship, John Verreault, regional vice president of commercial banking for TD Bank, and Bryan Hollander, Southeast originator for Enterprise Community Investment.

The event, at 425 Main Street in Blythewood, will also feature tours of the property.
