New West Columbia development Brookland is ready to welcome its first residents this month.

Building One, at the corner of the Meeting and Alexander streets, is ready for occupancy, according to the community’s website.

Brookland, a $40 million mixed-use development with up to 19,000 square feet of resident and retail space, features 225 one-and two-bedroom apartments and condos ranging from 600 to 1,500 square feet and renting from $1,000-$2,000 a month. Plans call for two to three restaurants, one with a rooftop space, along with a coffee shop and other retail stores.

Living spaces in Building One include floor plans with an open kitchen, 9-foot ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and private patios and balconies.

The development includes more than 400 public and private parking spaces along with public parks and recreation space. It has also partnered with Soda City Market to launch a weekly brunch each Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater.

The community is managed by Estate & Companies. Newmark Grubb Wilson Kibler is handling retail leasing inquiries.
