(Photo/Provided)The property, located at 295 Old Number Six Highway in Calhoun County, is currently a residence, wedding venue, vacation destination, hunting retreat and profitable farmland. It is 1.8 miles from downtown St. Matthews, 39 miles from downtown Columbia and 89 miles from Charleston.

The two-story, 5,200-square-foot antebellum estate has five bedrooms and four bathrooms. The surrounding land has been used by Clemson University since 1872 for experimental cotton production, and the farm is the site of the first harvestable soybean developed by John E. Wannamaker II, according to a news release.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own a piece of history in South Carolina,” O’Connor said in the release. “Aeolian Hill Farm exudes Southern charm with original craftsmanship and bucolic surroundings that can’t be replicated.”
