A Camden estate featuring a 7,600-square-foot main house, a large formal garden and a two-bedroom guest house will be auctioned online May 2.
Tours of the four-acre Cedar Knoll Estate at 602 Greene St. are available by appointment Friday through Sunday. Bidding on the estate, previously listed for $1.9 million, will begin Monday at 9 a.m. with an opening bid of $700,000.
Luxury real estate marketplace Interluxe is playing host to the auction. Viewing appointments are available by calling the Interluxe auction manager at 888-415-5893.
The estate, adjacent to the Camden Polo Fields and less than 30 minutes from Columbia, was originally built in the 1830s and has been renovated to include modern updates, including a 60-by-20-foot saltwater pool installed less than two years ago.
The main house features a two-story, columned porch and a grand mahogany staircase, along with a library, grand dining room, elevator and 1,200-bottle wine cellar.
“With a property of this caliber, we wanted a partner to help us attract a wide pool of qualified buyers,” listing agent Lisa Moore of the Litchfield Co. said in a news release. “They (Interluxe) have proved to be a class act all the way.”
Previews of the estate for prospective buyers and representatives are available Friday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
