The Casual Pint craft beer market will celebrate its new franchise location in Columbia’s Vista with a grand opening on Friday.
The 807 Gervais St. location is the company’s first in South Carolina and the first of six planned for the state. The Casual Pint, with hundreds of local, national and international brews and a rotating wall of 30 taps for pint and growler sales, has 11 locations in Tennessee and Ohio.
Customers can enjoy a pint or a flight in-store or buy packaged craft beer to go — in variety six packs mixed from the bottles and cans in the singles cooler if desired. Several types of growlers, including a thermal insulated stainless steel or 64-ounce glass option, are available, and refills are offered. Customers can also bring in their own growlers to fill.
Friday’s grand opening, which begins at 4 p.m., will feature a free growler for the first 50 customers and other giveaways, including pint glasses and T-shirts. Columbia-area beers will be featured.
The Casual Pint, based in Knoxville, opened its first store in 2011.
The first of three Greenville locations will open in the fall of 2016, a company spokeswoman said. A Lexington location is slated to open in the next 12 months, while one in Mount Pleasant is planned in the next 18.
