Shipt adds Columbia Bi-Lo stores to delivery service

Online grocery marketplace Shipt has partnered with Bi-Lo to add areas in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia, including Columbia, to its grocery delivery service.

Starting today, Shipt will deliver from Bi-Lo in locations in Columbia, as well as Greenville, Charleston, Charlotte and Savannah.

More than 1.3 million households across the Southeast will have access to Bi-Lo products, Shipt said in a news release. Shipt is offering a promotion to new Shipt members, discounting its annual membership from $99 to $49.

“Residents across the Southeast can now take advantage of a shopping experience that completely changes the way they access their mealtime staples and household essentials,” Shipt founder and CEO Bill Smith said in a news release. “As Shipt continues to grow, we are committed to bringing our members a diverse selection of products from their favorite trusted retailers across the country.”

An annual membership in Shipt, founded in 2014, grants customers free delivery on orders above $35.

“We are continually looking for more opportunities to meet every need of our customers and the communities we serve,” said Anthony Hucker, president and CEO of Bi-Lo parent company Southeastern Grocers. “The partnership with Shipt provides our customers another way to shop their local Bi-Lo and receive groceries right to their doorstep. We are excited for our customers to receive the same quality products and value that they can always count on when shopping in our stores.”

To support the expansion, Shipt will add members to its online shopping network throughout the Southeast. Applications to be a Shipt Shopper are available online.
