The surge of new businesses in Forest Acres has continued over the past week.

Fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant Cava has opened at 4844 Forest Drive in the former location of Zoe’s Kitchen. Cava, based in Washington, D.C. has a menu around customizable bowls that feature dips, meats and vegetables layered on a salad or grain base.

HomeGoods in Trenholm Plaza at 4840 Forest Drive held its long-awaited grand opening Nov. 10 and was greeted by a long line of shoppers who were already waiting outside for the doors to open. The home furnishings and accessories went into the large space vacated a year ago by Stein Mart. Sephora, located next door, opened in October and Bath & Body Works will be the third tenant to move into the space in the near future.

Locally owned children’s store Duck Duck Goose opened its second location Nov. 11 at 4525 Forest Drive, Suite C in the Forest Plaza Shopping Center. The store, owned by Sarah Monteith Rama, has another location on Devine Street and sells boutique clothing for children as well as toys, gifts and accessories.

Popular local design shop Cricket Newman Designs recently relocated to 2005 Beltline Boulevard behind J.R. Cash’s Grill and Bar. The business offers unique and affordable home accessories, fashions and floral arrangements.
