CoreLogic, a property data and analytics company based in Irvine, Calif., is closing its Columbia office. The closure will result in the loss of 86 jobs, with that work being consolidated in the company’s Westlake, Texas, office, said company spokeswoman Alyson Austin.
Austin said the Columbia location at 1628 Browning Road focused on public records data.
The office was previously located at 450 E. Boundary Street in Chapin. Karen Owens, director of
communications and economic development for the town of Chapin, said that the company moved closer to Columbia about six months ago after failing to negotiate a new lease with the property owner.
“We were sad to lose them, that’s for sure,” Owens said.
In July 2014, CoreLogic closed its Charlotte office, laying off 46 people. Those jobs were consolidated at the then-Chapin office and Westlake. The closed Charlotte division served lenders and other companies in property record retrieval and mortgage document processing.
CoreLogic, which counts banks, insurers, mortgage brokers, and real estate listing services among its clients, is set to announce its first quarter 2016 financial results on April 20.
