A Columbia security company that provides electric fencing for industrial and commercial sites has named Mark Wesley as CEO.

Wesley replaces Jack DeMao as the top executive for Electric Guard Dog LLC, the company said in a news release. DeMao has been CEO since 2007 and will remain on the company’s board of directors. Electric Guard Dog was acquired New York private equity firm Snow Phipps Group in 2016.

Wesley previously served as president of information technology services company Recall Corp. for North America and South America. He has an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Electric Guard Dog Chairman and Snow Phipps Group partner John Kenny said the company appreciates having someone with Wesley’s experience.

“We also want to thank Jack for making Electric Guard Dog what it is today,” Kenny said in a news release. “His leadership has transformed the company as it grew from a family business to SDM’s (Security, Distributing and Marketing magazine) Dealer of the Year in 2016.”

DeMao is credited with growing Electric Guard Dog to about 4,000 installed electric security fences nationwide. The company said those installations represent about 1,000 individual customers who need to secure high-value assets on industrial and commercial sites.

Last April, Electric Guard Dog reached a new milestone in financial growth by achieving $3 million in recurring monthly revenue.

“The company offers a unique service that works when everything else fails,” Wesley said. “I look forward to the opportunity to serve our fantastic customer base in new ways.”
