Information about proposed lane reductions to accommodate bike lanes on two downtown streets will be presented on June 28 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church at 1931 Sumter St.

The public meeting will provide details about proposed road diet plans on Calhoun Street from Wayne Street to Harden Street and on Hampton Street from Main Street to Harden Street. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

The plans propose reducing two travel lanes each way on the roads down to one travel lane each way with a center turn lane. Parking on the north side of Calhoun Street from Lincoln to Sumter and the north side of Hampton from Main to Harden would be removed to allow space for bike lanes.

City and county representatives are seeking input from area residents and business owners.
