Parking in Columbia will be free on Thanksgiving and the following weekend in most parts of the city.
All city parking deck facilities and on-street meters will be free on Thursday, the city’s Parking Services Division said in a news release.
Metered parking will be free city-wide parking on Friday and Saturday except in Five Points, where timed parking will be enforced from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Metered parking will be free city-wide on Sunday per regular operations.
All city parking decks will be free from 5 p.m. Wednesday until 3 a.m. Saturday, with usual operations resuming Saturday and Sunday. The state parking facility at 2221 Devine St. will have free parking on Friday and Saturday.
Parking facilities at Taylor, Washington and Cannon streets and the corner of Blanding and Sumter will continue to offer free parking after 6 p.m. and on weekends.
