The redesigned St. Andrews location of Richland Library is reopening after a one-year, $4.5 million facelift.
The 13,000-square-foot building at 2916 Broad River Road features improved access to technology, interactive learning spaces for children and exterior improvements.
The branch will offer career coaching and technology skills classes, built-in reading nooks, dedicated children’s computers and laptops available for checkout. There is also a teen hangout area, meeting spaces, a reading patio and a pick-up window.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning officially marked the branch's reopening.
The library will be open on Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The passage of a $59 million bond referendum in 2013 helped make the upgrades possible.
