Lego Williams-Brice coming to Columbia

Listen to this articleA Lego model of Williams-Brice Stadium will be displayed at the BrickUniverse Lego Convention at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in August.
University of South Carolina alum David Robinson, along with his son, David Jr., used more than 5,000 Lego pieces to construct the Gamecocks’ home field. The project took three months to complete and features a logo at midfield, green turf and the videoboard in the west end zone.
“When David’s stadium was brought to my attention, I just knew we had to have it at the event,” Greyson Beights, event founder and organizer, said in a news release.
This will be the first time Robinson’s project will be displayed for audiences.
BrickUniverse Lego Convention will take place Aug. 11 and 12. The convention will feature professional Lego artists, building zones and Lego displays. Tickets are available online for $15.
