Pet nutritional supplement provider Nutramax Laboratories is investing $20 million in an expansion to its Lancaster County operations expected to create 225 jobs.

Founded in 1992, Nutramax has based its animal health business and corporate operations in Lancaster County since 2010. The company has facilities in South Carolina and Maryland.

“We have fantastic employees, and they are our greatest asset,” Nutramax president and CEO Todd Henderson said in a news release. “We plan to continue to be a part of making Lancaster a great place to work and live.”

The expansion will increase manufacturing capacity and accommodate additional corporate needs, according to the release.

Hiring will begin immediately. Interested applicants can visit the company’s careers page.

“It’s difficult to put into words just how much Nutramax Laboratories means to Lancaster County. This expansion is tremendous news for our community,” Lancaster County Council chairman Steve Harper said. “The company has brought manufacturing jobs to a community that was in desperate need of them and continues to invest in Lancaster County with new facilities and jobs.”
