Public can review proposed educational materials

The public will be able to review textbooks and instructional materials proposed for use in S.C. public schools at 18 locations throughout the state through Nov. 23.

The state Board of Education will receive public comments before making final content decisions. Publisher-provided links to the proposed material will also be available online beginning tomorrow.

The material will be recommendation to the board for adoption on Dec. 11.  

Academic subject areas include algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, computer science, Chinese, French and health. Career and technology education areas include computer programming and repair, digital media marketing, information technology fundamentals and sports and entertainment management.

The public review sites are:
