The S.C. Philharmonic is partnering with the Columbia Fireflies to bring a distinctive dining experience to Segra Park on Oct. 1.

A five-piece band featuring trumpeters Charlie Polk and Dick Goodwin, Eric Gulfus on horn, trombonist Michael Wilkinson and tuba player Ronald Davis will serenade diners on the covered stadium concourse overlooking the field.  A dinner and drink menu is available during a pair of seatings, one from 5:30 p.m. till 7 p.m. and the other from 7:30 p.m. till 9 p.m.

“The South Carolina Philharmonic is thrilled for this opportunity to perform at beautiful Segra Park,” Rhonda Hunsinger, S.C. Philharmonic executive director, said in a news release. “We look forward to continuing this partnership well into the future as COVID restrictions lift and larger ensembles are possible.”

Tickets are $12.50, with all proceeds from ticket sales benefiting the philharmonic. A second dining and musical event is planned for Nov. 6.

“Segra Park was designed as a multi-use sports and entertainment venue,” Fireflies team president John Katz said. “While we lost the 2020 baseball season, we are excited to bring the arts to the ballpark on Oct. 1. We are here to bring our community together, and music is an art that unites us all.”
