Richland Library is hosting hiring events to help the U.S. Census bureau fill temporary jobs in the Midlands.
The census bureau plans to hire nearly 500,000 temporary workers nationwide to conduct the count of U.S. residents.
Richland Library is hosting a dozen hiring events at locations throughout the county through the end of March, beginning Tuesday at its main branch at 1431 Assembly St. Potential applicants can learn more about and apply for available positions.
Interested candidates must be 18 years old or older, be a U.S. citizen, and have a valid Social Security number.
Pay rates in Richland County range from $14 to $15.50 per hour for both census takers and office positions.
