The grand opening for Richland County Library’s Southeast branch, the final project completed with money from a $59 million bond referendum passed by county voters in 2013, will be held April 12.

Activities, music and a ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at the Southeast branch, located at 7421 Garners Ferry Road, beginning at 3 p.m. Renovations at the 19,000-square-foot building include an expanded children’s area, gaming labs, meeting rooms and an outdoor programming space, according to Richland Library’s website.

The renovations also include a public art display by Jerome Meadows featuring three figures, two adults and a youth, who are faceless to represent community diversity.

The grand opening is free and open to the public, and the library will be open until 6 p.m.
