Samsung donates 3 digital flipcharts to school

Samsung will provide three interactive digital flipcharts and stands, worth a combined $10,500, to Gallman Elementary School in Newberry County.

Samsung began producing washing machines at its first U.S.-based home appliance manufacturing facility in Newberry in January.

(Photo/Provided) “Samsung strives to be good corporate citizens across the globe, and Newberry County is no different,” Joon So, president of the Newberry plant, said in a news release“We hope to continue our efforts to provide education technology to local schools in order to provide innovative opportunities for local students.”

Samsung said Wednesday’s donation marks the first of what it hopes are many collaborations with Gallman.

“We are so thankful to the people of Samsung for being dedicated to the future of the young people in Newberry County,” Gallman principal Nikki Hunter said.  “The students of Gallman Elementary are excited to be able to experience the incredible technology capabilities that Samsung can offer.”
