SC Biz News celebrates 40 high-growth companies

Forty of the state’s fastest-growing companies celebrated their success Thursday night in Columbia, with Hire Dynamics of Greenville grabbing the honor of being the fastest-growing large company in the state, while Quantum Coatings of Mount Pleasant was named the fastest-growing small company.

The Roaring 20s recognizes 20 large and 20 small companies in an annual event hosted by SC Biz News and its partners at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Columbia.

Hundreds of business leaders and company representatives celebrated during a ceremony preceded by a networking hour and mini trade show in which the 40 honored businesses set up display booths.

Finalists were chosen and ranked according to growth and revenue. Company size was determined by gross revenue — small companies are those with $10 million or less; large is more than $10 million.

A formula awarded points based on dollar and percentage increases in revenue generated from S.C. operations for the last year. This formula was used to create a level playing field among smaller and larger companies within the categories. Accounting firm Cherry Bekaert analyzed and verified the results.
