Staff Report //March 2, 2020//
All S.C. payers of solid waste taxes are now required to file and pay electronically.
The electronic mandate went into effect March 1, according to a news release from the S.C. Department of Revenue. South Carolina’s solid waste tax applies to the sale of motor oil and lubricants, tires, lead-acid batteries, and white goods such as refrigerators.
The tax provides for a solid waste reduction and recycling program.
Penalties and interest will apply if an electronic mandate is in effect and a taxpayer does not file electronically, the revenue department said.
Taxpayers can file and pay S.C. business taxes electronically using the department’s free online tax portal myDORWAY.
