The Carolina Alliance for Technology, a STEM-focused program serving Ridge View and Westwood high schools in Richland School District Two, is seeking industry mentors.

The CAT program, which addresses the skills gap in computer science and engineering jobs in South Carolina, pairs a mentor with sophomores at the schools. Mentors with backgrounds in computer science or engineering are paired with two to three students and meet for four sessions throughout the 2018-19 school year. Mentors will be provided with STEM activities and discussion guides.

The sessions will be held Sept. 18, Nov. 13, Feb. 12 and April 23.

Interested participants can complete an online signup form. Mentors will be assigned by Sept. 7.
