Analysis website SportBusiness International ranked the University of South Carolina’s Master of Science in sport and entertainment management program sixth in its annual list of top postgraduate courses.

USC’s program jumped nine spots after being ranked 15th in 2017.

“This ranking is a reflection of the success and growth of our sport and entertainment management students, alumni and faculty,” Haemoon Oh, dean of USC’s College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management, said in a news release.

SportBusiness is an independent organization that analyzes the global sports industry. The rankings are based on the results of a survey of more than 1,300 faculty members and alumni from 75 universities around the world. Programs were ranked on a variety of criteria, including employment salaries, value and diversity.

“Our master’s program is leading the way in graduate-level sport and entertainment business education,” said Matt Brown, chair of USC’s Department of Sport and Entertainment Management. “We recruit exceptional faculty who have strong industry leadership experience and collaborate with partners and alumni to create unique experiences that prepare our students to lead after graduation.”

USC was recently ranked first in the U.S. and fourth in the world in ShanghaiRanking’s 2017 Global Ranking of Sport Science Schools and Departments.
